NTSE Selection Process:

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level scholarship program in India. The selection process for NTSE includes two stages: Stage 1 and Stage 2.

Stage 1:

The Stage 1 exam is conducted by the respective State/Union Territory (UT) government. The exam is usually held in November every year. The exam consists of two papers: Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The MAT and SAT papers contain multiple-choice questions. The duration of each paper is 2 hours. The NTSE Stage 1 exam is conducted in all the states and UTs of India except for Nagaland, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Meghalaya.

The result of the NTSE Stage 1 exam is declared by the respective State/UT government. The cutoff marks for the Stage 1 exam vary for different states/UTs. Only those candidates who clear the Stage 1 exam are eligible to appear for the Stage 2 exam.

Stage 2:

The Stage 2 exam is conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The exam is usually held in May every year. The exam consists of two papers: MAT and SAT. The exam pattern and syllabus for Stage 2 are the same as that of Stage 1.

The final result of the NTSE exam is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in both Stage 1 and Stage 2 exams. The final merit list is prepared based on the combined scores of both the exams. The selected candidates are awarded scholarships for their higher secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies in India.

It is important to note that the selection process may vary depending on the guidelines issued by NCERT and respective State/UT government. Candidates are advised to check the official website of NCERT or respective State/UT government for detailed information on the NTSE selection process.
